Handmancers Is Launching a Steam Playtest Next Week, Sign Ups Are Open Now

Show Off Your Tactical Prowess in Handmancers

Indie studios 58BLADES and Human Qube Games have announced an open Steam playtest for Handmancers, scheduled to begin on January 20. Players can sign up starting today.

Handmancers is a first-person roguelite deckbuilder that reimagines Rock, Paper, Scissors as a tactical battle of prediction and planning. Each encounter challenges players to think several steps ahead, turning every decision into a mind game. Rather than relying solely on choosing the correct Sign, players actively shape their hand throughout each run. This results in powerful and unexpected combinations.

The game builds depth through extensive customization systems. Gems modify Signs with new effects and strategic twists. And the Artifacts introduce strong synergies that can completely change how fights play out. Players must experiment, adapt, and refine their approach as they progress, crafting a hand capable of overcoming increasingly dangerous encounters. Every run encourages creative problem-solving and rewards smart decision-making.

The open playtest offers a substantial slice of the full experience. Players can jump into full runs featuring multiple playable heroes, explore the game’s complete set of core mechanics, and engage with a meta-progression system that carries over between attempts. This progression system allows players to learn from each run and steadily grow stronger over time.

The playtest will also support in-game localization, giving players access to currently available language options as development moves closer to launch. With its inventive concept, strategic depth, and replayable structure, Handmancers aims to deliver a fresh and engaging take on the roguelite deckbuilder genre.
