A Quality of Life Update for Birdseed VR
Buffalo Buffalo has revealed its first major quality of life update for Birdseed VR as the studio moves steadily toward the game’s official launch. The update focuses on smoothing out the overall experience with bug fixes, interface polish, and a selection of thoughtful additions that expand both utility and discovery for players.
At the centre of this update is the new Field Journal, created as an essential companion for every virtual birdwatcher. This journal enables players to track newly introduced daily challenges across a range of mission types, each offering bottle caps as rewards. These bottlecaps will become a valuable currency for future tools and items, giving players more reasons to return each day. The Field Journal also stores past photographs and may even hide a few clues about upcoming features for those who take the time to study it closely.
The update brings new birds into the world as well, encouraging players to look beyond familiar branches and skies. These additions make each outing more dynamic, and the Field Journal’s regional bird list offers guidance whenever players need a reminder of what might be nearby.
Another welcome improvement is the introduction of a real-time feedback system. It helps players instantly understand whether they have completed a challenge or if a bird is out of reach for their current lens, reducing uncertainty and maintaining steady pacing. The scoring system has also been refined to give each photo a star rating of up to three, adding an extra layer of strategy for seasoned players pursuing high-quality shots. Together, these features shape a smoother, more engaging experience and set the stage for the updates still to come.
