Insomnia: Chapter One Is Releasing a Demo for Steam Next Fest

A Chilling Experience Awaits in Insomnia: Chapter One

MelonPolygon has officially announced that the free demo of Insomnia: Chapter One will launch during Steam Next Fest 2025. Developed by independent creator Anzor Lejava and co-published with MonkeyFactory Media Sàrl, the Swiss indie label, the demo marks the first major public showcase of the game. The title will also appear at Scream Fest 2025, standing alongside an international lineup of atmospheric horror experiences.

Insomnia: Chapter One

Insomnia: Chapter One takes players deep into the frozen wasteland of the Arctic. Here, silence and isolation are as dangerous as what hides beneath the surface. Drawing inspiration from Still Wakes the Deep, The Thing, and Amnesia, the game combines environmental storytelling with psychological tension and survival-based exploration. There is no combat, only the creeping dread of an environment that seems alive, whispering secrets through the pipes of Perseus Station, an arctic research facility unraveling under the weight of madness.

Players follow Ethan Miller, a young technician sent on what appears to be a simple maintenance job. His mission quickly turns into a descent into paranoia and guilt as reality fractures around him. Every corridor tells a story of what went wrong, and every shadow hides something best left undiscovered. To survive, Ethan must uncover the truth about what happened beneath the ice and confront the horrors that remain.

Designed as a slow-burn psychological experience, Insomnia: Chapter One invites players to explore, listen, and piece together fragments of a decaying world. It marks the beginning of a larger episodic narrative, one that promises to delve even deeper into fear, isolation, and the fragile limits of the human mind.
