Surreal Comedy Awaits in Jamboy
Nakama Game Studio’s latest creation, Jamboy, A Jelly-Cious Hero, has officially launched on PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch. Known for previous titles like Bubble Ghost Remake and Acheron’s Souls, Nakama Game Studio brings a fresh twist to the 2D platformer genre with this surreal, food-themed adventure. Priced at $7.99 on PC and $6.99 on Switch, the game promises substantial content for its cost. It combines familiar platforming mechanics with unusual and imaginative elements that give it a truly distinctive flavor.
“We know the 2D platform space is well populated,” explains Nakama Game Studio Founder Pedro Seco de Herrera, “But with Jamboy with squeezed every last drop out of the genre, pushing it further than we might have thought possible fifteen or twenty years ago, back in the heyday of the genre. This is the very game we would have wanted back then, and we can’t wait for players to experience it.”
In Jamboy, players guide a doughy hero and his companion, Billy, through a bizarre adventure after giant Damien swallowed them. Inside this living labyrinth, the duo navigates fleshy tunnels and battles mischievous foody fiends. It is a stomach-churning mix of action, platforming, and surreal comedy. The game features two distinct play styles: Snack Mode for a lighter, more relaxed experience, and Buffet Mode for players seeking a more challenging journey. Once the main campaign is complete, Lost Levels offer additional content to explore.
For those curious to sample the adventure, a free demo is available on both Steam and the Nintendo eShop. With its quirky design, inventive mechanics, and playful humor, Jamboy invites players to dive into a platforming experience unlike any other, promising both laughter and challenge in equal measure.
