Hack Some Computers in 868-Back
FINJI, the acclaimed studio behind titles like Night in the Woods, Chicory, and Tunic, has officially launched its latest collaboration with indie developer Michael Brough, known for 868-HACK. The new project, titled 868-BACK, is now available on PC via Steam, GOG, and itch.io.
Priced at $19.99, the game is currently offered with a 10% launch discount across all platforms for a limited time. Players can also grab it as part of a bundle with the original 868-HACK, which carries an additional discounted price on Steam.
868-BACK builds on the foundations of its predecessor, delivering a computer-hacking strategy roguelike experience inspired by classic dungeon crawlers. Players dive into digital servers treated as hostile environments, where they must steal valuable data from powerful corporations while navigating risks and managing limited resources. Hacking tools double as weapons, allowing players to fight off threats and push deeper into increasingly dangerous systems.
The game introduces procedurally generated servers, ensuring that each run feels fresh. With every attempt, players gain new abilities and face tougher challenges, encouraging a careful balance between risk and reward. The core objective revolves around dismantling corporate power structures while surviving the unpredictable nature of each hack.
Michael Brough shared that the original 868-HACK had a meaningful impact on players, and he hopes the sequel can offer a similarly positive experience.
The game is currently available in English, offering a focused and challenging gameplay loop for fans of strategy-driven roguelikes. With its blend of tactical depth and replayability, 868-BACK stands out as a compelling addition to the indie roguelike space.
