Halls of Torment Unveils First DLC, Console Ports, and Huge Update

Big News for Halls of Torment Players

Indie developer Chasing Carrots has unveiled major updates for Halls of Torment, the studio’s acclaimed horde survival game that has quickly become a standout in the Survivor-like genre. With more than 28,000 “Overwhelmingly Positive” reviews on Steam, the game continues to expand with its first-ever DLC, a massive free update, and upcoming console releases for Xbox and PlayStation. Both platforms will include the new content, with the DLC available for purchase.

The debut expansion, Halls of Torment – The Boglands, introduces a grim new setting filled with additional heroes, mechanics, and challenges designed to push even seasoned players to their limits. Alongside it, the developers will release the Bardcore update for free, adding The Bard as a playable character, fresh abilities, new music, and more. Although they have not set a release date, players can expect both updates to arrive together.

Drawing inspiration from classics like Diablo and Vampire Survivors, Halls of Torment combines retro visuals with modern roguelike design. Players select a character and descend into cursed dungeons, facing endless waves of demonic foes. Each run demands quick reflexes and careful choices as traits, items, and abilities stack to shape powerful builds capable of standing against the Tormented Lords.

Since its launch, the game has earned a reputation as one of the most addictive entries in its genre. With half-hour survival runs, infinite scaling, and labyrinthine environments, it captures the spirit of late 90s action RPGs while offering the replayability modern players crave. The arrival of The Boglands DLC, coupled with the Bardcore update and console versions, marks the next chapter in the game’s growth, promising even more reasons for players to return to the halls.
