Let the Humans Sleep in FREEZIA
Indie developers room6 and Sassan03 have released FREEZIA on PC via Steam today. It is a cryosleep management puzzle action game set in a fragile future where Earth’s environment teeters on the brink.
In the game, humanity’s only hope lies in a centuries-long sleep, and the task of guiding them into that slumber falls to an artificial intelligence named Freezia. With her allies, she must preserve stability, bring order, and quietly shepherd humankind toward survival.
As Freezia, players oversee cryosleep pods, ensuring their temperatures remain perfectly balanced. Three pods appear on screen, each with a temperature scale. Aligning these scales with a central guide “stabilizes” the pods, but the window to act is short. Precision is key, and hesitation can lead to accidents ranging from malfunctions to fatal freezing. Frequent errors could even put her in jeopardy.
Beyond the core puzzle gameplay, it weaves in a narrative that blends mystery and melancholy. Players encounter a range of characters, from humans who revere Freezia as a savior to those preparing for their long, cold sleep. Each interaction adds depth to the haunting premise, revealing glimpses of human hope, fear, and resignation.
The game’s aesthetic leans into a dreamlike vision of the future, pairing muted blue and white pixel art with a delicate music box-style soundtrack. Together, they create a serene yet bittersweet atmosphere, underscoring the gravity of Freezia’s role.
