MotionRec Will Start Recording on Steam Later This Month

Record and Play in MotionRec

PLAYISM has announced that MotionRec, the tape recorder-themed puzzle action game developed by HANDSUM, will officially launch for PC on October 27, 2025. A free demo is already available on Steam, inviting players to experience the game’s inventive mechanics. You can explore the demo now and add the game to your wishlists ahead of release.

Alongside the announcement, PLAYISM also revealed a new key art created by Nelnal, a character and concept designer recognized for their work on the Pokémon Trading Card Game, RATATAN, and DELTARUNE. The illustration captures the essence of MotionRec through a playful yet melancholic tone that reflects the spirit of its world.

MotionRec

In MotionRec, players control Rec, a small robot on a mission to record traces of civilization across a ruined, machine-dominated world. The game’s central feature revolves around recording movement patterns such as walking, jumping, and other complex maneuvers. And then playing them back to interact with the environment. This mechanic allows players to overcome otherwise impossible obstacles, such as climbing to unreachable heights or crossing empty spaces with creative use of recorded motion.

Each stage challenges players to think outside the box, combining platforming and puzzle solving through careful timing and experimentation. By mastering the ability to record and replay actions, players can discover hidden paths and piece together the remnants of a once-thriving world.

With its imaginative concept and striking art design, MotionRec promises an engaging blend of creativity and challenge when it releases on October 27, 2025. The demo offers a glimpse of its innovative mechanics, setting the stage for one of the year’s most intriguing indie experiences.
