Escape From Tarkov Goes 1.0 This Fall
Battlestate Games’ long-running tactical shooter Escape From Tarkov is finally preparing to leave early access. First revealed in 2012 and launched into closed beta in 2017, the game has remained in development for over a decade, keeping fans waiting for an official release. That wait is nearly over, as a new live-action trailer has confirmed a November 15 launch for version 1.0. The date was further validated by studio head Nikita Buyanov on his X account.

Details on what the 1.0 release will include remain limited. While Battlestate has yet to outline specific features, players can expect expanded story content, refined maps, new weapons, and quality of life updates that continue to build on the game’s core survival-focused design.
Escape From Tarkov has built a dedicated community over the years. Although the relationship between the developer and fans has not always been smooth. One of the most contentious moments came after the release of the $150 Edge of Darkness edition. It was marketed as including all future downloadable content. Controversy erupted when Battlestate later launched Escape From Tarkov: Arena and a separate PvE mode as part of a $250 package. Following backlash, the studio apologized and confirmed that Edge of Darkness owners would receive access to the PvE mode as originally promised.
Despite these challenges, the game has maintained a loyal following drawn to its blend of unforgiving combat and high-stakes survival. With version 1.0 now on the horizon, the community’s long wait for a full release is coming to an end. However, Escape From Tarkov will remain a PC exclusive title.
