Dive Into Action in Aksun
Aksun, a hack-and-slash roguelite inspired by Korean shamanic folklore, is inviting players into its first public playtest. Blending ritual-driven combat with chaotic elemental synergies, Aksun challenges players to survive, adapt, and evolve through its brutal cycle of death, memory, and rebirth.
At the heart of the game lies the Casket, a cursed construct designed to seal away the will of a fallen cult and its monstrous prophet. Players must descend deeper into this prison, unlocking new weapons, corrupted relics, and stat-shaping Echoes that transform each run into a unique experience.
Aksun’s progression system is built around three interconnected pillars. Weapons, bound to Hell Gods, define a player’s combat style and grant devastating Awakening Skills. Artifacts, drawn from forbidden rituals, channel elemental forces and unleash deployable effects. Finally, Echoes amplify builds with stat-based synergies, mutating playstyles in unexpected ways.
Every chapter unfolds as a branching map filled with meaningful choices, from upgrading weapons and uncovering artifacts to triggering elemental chain reactions like Firestorm or Electrified Blast. These layers of strategy are woven into a dark world shaped by the lore of Korea’s Six Realms of Rebirth.
The playtest build offers a substantial first glimpse into this vision. Players can expect:
– Two chapters, each ending with a boss encounter
– Five elemental systems (Fire, Ice, Wind, Earth, Lightning) with chain reaction effects
– Eight Artifacts and two distinct Weapon types
– Awakening and Echo systems for deep customization
– Distorted realms steeped in Korean spiritual tradition
Aksun’s public playtest marks the beginning of a larger journey, with community feedback playing a central role in shaping its path forward.
