Begin the Hunt in Starship Troopers: Extermination
Offworld Industries and Knights Peak have released the latest update for Starship Troopers: Extermination. The Update 1.5, titled Phantom’s Nest, is now live on all platforms. This new patch introduces expanded content, gameplay tweaks, and fresh features that deepen the ongoing war between humanity and the Arachnid threat.
One of the standout additions is the revamped Hive Hunt mode. It now supports up to 16 players and features a new “Escort the Nuke” objective. Horde Mode has also received a major adjustment as waves now progress based on time, not Bug kills, shifting the gameplay dynamics.
A new weapon, the Morita II, has entered the battlefield. All classes can unlock it at level 16, and it includes an experimental plasma launcher mod for high-impact damage. The update also brings new mods for the Morita XXX and TW2R Sp.L.I.T Shotgun, enhancing firepower options for troopers.
Beyond the new tools and missions, the Galactic War mode has been refined, accompanied by numerous bug fixes and quality of life upgrades.
Looking ahead, Update 1.6 is coming out this August. It promises to bring a new Bug Spawning System to intensify combat. It will also introduce a brand new game mode, the first since Hive Hunt. Troopers will head to Valaka and Agni Prime to search for Archnigeon, a rare and potentially game-changing resource.
Launched in Early Access in May 2023 and fully released in October 2024, Starship Troopers: Extermination is a co-op FPS that draws inspiration from the classic film. Available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, it places players in the heart of humanity’s last stand against an overwhelming alien menace.
