Atari Secures Awesomenauts and Swords & Soldiers From Ronimo Games

Atari Expands Its Gaming Universe

Atari, one of the most iconic and popular consumer brands and interactive entertainment producers made a huge announcement. The company has acquired multiple titles from Dutch video game developer Ronimo Games including Awesomenauts and Swords & Soldiers. The acquisition encompasses the game, trademarks, and the associated intellectual property.

Wade Rosen, the CEO of Atari said, “The team at Ronimo developed a well-deserved reputation for character and game design,”. He added, “We’re excited about the potential for these titles.”

Well, if you are not aware of these two titles, don’t worry because we have your back. Awesomenauts is a free-to-play character-driven 2D multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game. It was first released back in 2012.

Players control one of the unique characters known as Awesomenauts, which comes with their own special abilities and playstyles. Matches are played in teams of three, with the goal of destroying the enemy’s base while defending your own.

Swords & Soldiers is a 2D side-scrolling real-time strategy game that originally came out in 2009. There are three factions in the game, namely, the Aztecs, the Vikings, and the Imperial Chinese. They are all fighting against one another to gain the powers of the gods.

All the while maintaining a simple but addictive gameplay, charming art style, and humorous tone. The game has received positive reviews from critics and players alike and even got a sequel in 2015.
