Street Fighter 6 TMNT Cosmetics are Outrageously Expensive

Cowabunghole

Last weekend, during EVO 2023, every fighting game and their mother were making announcements. Capcom unveiled a new DLC character for Street Fighter 6, as well as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cosmetics. If you stop reading right there, everything seems cool, but something really stinks about these sewer dwellers.

The teaser had really rad things, like the 90s animated cartoon theme song. *Chef’s kiss* One key piece of information missing from the announcement was the price. We assumed that these things would be free. They are entirely cosmetic and do not offer any stat or fighting bonuses, so free stuff would be cool.

Street Fighter 6

Unfortunately, they are not free and therefore not cool. Now that we have a look at the real prices of this crossover content, we something very uncool. The Turtles’ costumes cost 750 Fighter Coins, which translates to $15 EACH. All four would cost $60, which is the price of the Street Fighter 6 base game.

The crossover also includes Taunts, a Sticker Set, in-game Camera Frames, and in-game phone wallpapers. All those cosmetics would be an extra 1300 Fighter Coins. If you were to buy all of the TMNT content, you would be spending about $100 on top of the price of the game. It is totally up to you whether it is worth it, but… come on. Just go see the new movie.

Street Fighter 6 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
