Like Father, Like Son
A couple of weeks ago, GameMill Entertainment announced Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2. It is the sequel to the 2021 crossover brawler, back with more characters than before. Just a year ago, we were still covering DLC characters from the first game, but there’s a Nickelodeon market, so why not a new game?
Since the new game was announced, GameMill has released gameplay of SpongeBob and Squidward. Today, we are looking at the boy genius himself, Jimmy Neutron. Jimmy Neutron was not actually in the first All-Star Brawl, but his father, Hugh Neutron, was a DLC character.
The Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 gameplay shows off Jimmy’s abilities. Of course, his intelligence and brilliant inventions are what makes him special. He makes use of a laser-watch, an “All-Purpose Toaster”, and the Super Bubblegum Mobile, as seen in the film.
His faithful robotic companion Goddard is also a handy tool in combat. Using the Special button, Jimmy sends out Goddard toward an enemy, exploding on contact. Alternatively, you can press the Special button a second time and remote control Goddard. This allows him to use a variety of attacks from afar, however, it leaves Jimmy vulnerable.
Jimmy Neutron can also use a wrist-mounted rocket launcher. Before launching, players can aim the rocket in any direction they choose and the rocket will zig-zag as it travels. Out of that outrageously large head of his, there are almost too many inventions and gadgets to recognize. All of which are combat-ready.
There is no official release date yet, but Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 is expected to come out this year. It will launch on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
