Not to Be Confused With Mortal Kombat 1
When it comes to NetherRealm Studios’ flagship fighting game, there are some elements that stand out more than others. We need brutal fights, violent finishers, stylish characters, and Kombat. With the live-action films, it looks they will keep those elements front and center with Mortal Kombat 2.
In the 2021 reboot film, the dialogue and story may have been a little lackluster. However, the important components above were there. Recently, new actors have been cast as villains in Mortal Kombat 2. These characters include Shao Kahn, Sindel, Jerrod, and Quan Chi.
Many of us know who Shao Kahn and Sindel are. Jerrod has not been a playable character before and was Sindel’s husband before Shao Kahn’s forced killed him. Kind Jerrod will be played by Desmond Chaim. Quan Chi is an ally of Shang Tsung and was first playable in Mortal Kombat 4. He is a powerful sorcerer and necromancer, and he will be played by Damon Herriman.
New castings for ‘MORTAL KOMBAT 2’ have been announced, including:
• Martyn Ford as Shao Kahn
• Desmond Chiam as King Jerrod
• Ana Thu Nguyen as Queen Sindel

Shao Khan’s casting is very exciting. He will be played by bodybuilder Martyn Ford, who is HUGE. Ford hasn’t had many prominent acting roles, but has appeared in F9: The Fast Saga and Kingsman: The Golden Circle. Sindel, whose daughter Mileena appeared in the first film, will be played by Ana Thu Ngyuen. She also has not had many roles in feature films, but hopefully we see her shine as Sindel.
Mortal Kombat 2 has no release date yet and is currently in pre-production.
