As for the unknown, the FAQ had vague wording in one part. The FAQ goes into way more information than just specs, listing out supported languages and answering other tech inquiries. But the final question reads as follows:

No, Dead Island 2 does not support performance-boosting software.

Which is… a bit odd, given how much those terms do and do not encompass. More clarity will be needed, but with production shifting closer and closer to release, it will surely arrive at some point.
