The Release Date for Dead Island 2 Has Actually Moved Forward

Expect the Unexpected

We are awaiting news on weather or not Hell has frozen over. We are also on the lookout for sightings of flying pigs. However, in an even less likely turn of events, Dead Island 2 will be released earlier than expected. That’s right, not later, earlier.

This game was famous for being pretty much non-existent for the better half of the last ten years. It was announced at E3 2014, if you can believe it, with a 2015 release window in mind. Dead Island 2 changed developers at least twice before finally setting on Dambuster Studios, a internal studio at Deep Silver.

Thankfully, fans of the now-decade old series have got news and evidence of life in the sequel over the past few years. The release date was set for February 3rd, but was pushed to April 28th. Then, to everyone’s surprise, the release date was pushed up to April 21st.

Earlier today, the developers announced the new release date and that their game has officially gone gold. After this historic and seemingly unending delay the game has gone through, it must be nice to finally put it in the rear view mirror.

Dead Island 2 will be coming out on April 21st for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
