MLB The Show 23 Captain Edition Is a Fully Loaded Dugout

Take Me Out to The Show

Is it a thing that the day season tickets go on sale, everyone scrambles to get some? As a not-really baseball fan, I don’t know. As a gamer, I know that pre-ordering games is a pretty big thing though. Today, MLB The Show 23 is open for pre-orders and there are a few different editions to check out.

MLB The Show 23 will be coming out toward the end of next month. If you are planning to get it, you might want to consider which edition. A strange thing this game is doing is having two Standard Editions. One is for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The other is for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. If pre-ordered, the last gen edition only comes with 5K Stubs (an in-game currency) and the current gen edition comes with 10K Stubs and 5 Show Packs. The last gen edition also does not appear to be upgradeable to current gen.

The Digital Deluxe Edition seems to have the most content of the bunch. It comes with a Captain’s Choice Pack, Choice Pack, Special Uniform Choice Pack, 5 Gold Choice Packs, 20 Show Packs, a Ballplayer Pack, Double Daily Rewards, Cover Athlete Bat Skin, and 30K Stubs. It also comes with Dual Entitlement and 4 days of early access.

MLB The Show 23 Captain Edition costs the same as Digital Deluxe, has fewer digital contents, but physical items. It is mostly the same as the above, but instead has 2 Gold Choice Packs, 5 Show Packs, and 10K Stubs. It also comes packaged with a steelbook case and a New Era baseball cap.

MLB The Show 23 will be out on March 28th for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
