SkateBIRD Physical Edition Coming to Nintendo Switch

Catch Some Air

Everyone knows about a bird’s desire to soar, but they don’t tell you about their desire to skate. SkateBIRD is a cute arcade skating game with an adorable birb. It’s an adorable indie game, released digitally for the most part. However, Nintendo Switch is getting a physical edition of the game soon.

The physical edition of SkateBIRD is being released by Limited Run Games. It is not getting the collector’s or special edition treatment that Limited Run Games sometimes go for though. It does however have exclusive box art of a pudgy bird with a funny hat. The traditional box art is on the Amazon version.

There isn’t anything really special about this release, but Limited Run Games is also selling a real SkateBIRD skateboard. The item is completely separate from the game, so if you already have it, you can just get the deck.

The board 8″ wide, 31.875″ long, and has a 14″ wheelbase. It also has “steep kicks” and is “full concave”. I’m not a skater and have no idea what that means, but it is probably a good thing.

SkateBIRD is not a game with a AAA price tag, so it only costs $35. If you really like novelty items with practicality, the skateboard is $75. Both the physical game and the board go on sale on November 15th. You can also check out our review here.

SkateBIRD is available now, digitally, for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
