Badass Brawler
We may not have a solid release date for River City Girls 2, but it’s got to be close. Earlier today, Arc System Works released a trailer for one of the new characters, Marian. Publishers don’t start releasing character trailers until the game’s about to come out. I’ve got a tingle about it.
Marian is a new character, but she’s not. She is the damsel in distress from the very first Double Dragon game. As Jimmy and Billy, you have to fight an entire gang to rescue her. However, that’s not the case anymore.
The character trailer shows a What If…? scenario where she was not rescued by Jimmy and Billy. Instead, she trains, she gets ripped, she rescues herself. Now, in River City Girls 2, she kicks yakuza ass alongside Kyoko and Misako. There is another character coming to the game as well.
Provie, from River City Rumble: Underground will also be playable. There is only a matter of time before we see a character trailer focused on her. Marian also made a cameo appearance in the first River City Girls game. In the Downtown District, she is the shopkeeper of a store called “Swaggage”.
If you need to see what our River City Girls are up against, there is also a trailer showing off the villains and enemies of the game. River City Girls 2 is expected to come out sometime this year. It will be available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
