Kerbal Space Program 2 Finally Has a Release Date

Kerbal Space Program 2 Is Coming to Early Access in February

Kerbal Space Program 2 fans have long been waiting for the sequel to finally drop. Thankfully, devs have just announced the game’s official release date for its early access. After three long years and four delays, the rocket-building sim is finally going to be available on Steam and Epic starting February 24th.

Devs first announced the game at Gamescom 2019. They originally set its for launch in early 2020. Unfortunately, it was delayed and even had a change in developer. Its launch was pushed to 2021 and later again towards the latter half of 2022. Devs pushed its release back one more time just this May.

Now, it finally has a firm release date. Still, it is worth noting that the February 24th launch will still not be a full release just yet. Its early access will come with more than 350 “new and improved parts to build with.”

Moreover, Kerbal Space Program 2 players will also be given the option to customize and paint all of their space vehicles. They can also go through the entire Kerbolar system with “classic locations.” Examples of such locations would be Jool, Kerbin, and Mun making their return.

Devs also have several future additions in the works. Just like they promised the Kerbal Space Program 2 community, they are soon adding multiplayer and mod support. According to their announcement, these features will be making their way into the game “throughout the proceeding months.” Players will soon also be able to enjoy interstellar travel and colonies that they can plonk across the galaxy.

Kerbal Space Program 2’s early access “will allow Kerbal fans to see for themselves all the amazing progress” that devs have made as they head towards the final stages of development. “At its heart, KSP2 is about exploration, discovery, and conquering the force of gravity by adding more boosters,” said Intercept Games Creative Director Nate Simpson.
