Gotham Knights’ Free Update Is Coming Next Month
Gotham Knights fans are happy to know that their favorite game is getting a free update next month. What makes this news even more exciting is that there will be a four-player co-op mode.
“On November 29, 2022, the game will also add Heroic Assault—a standalone mode supporting up to four players in online co-op,” Developer WB Games Montreal announced. This indicates that fans will be able to jump into the campaign either solo or cooperatively. Then, at the end of November, they will have the chance to play a separate standalone mode with their buddies. Gotham Knights’ Heroic Assault is an arena combat mode that is separate from its main campaign.
“The standalone mode supports up to four players in online co-op and provides a dedicated arena-like environment with specific objectives to complete and enemies to defeat on each floor,” devs continued. This is a welcome throwback to the age of standalone modes.
Devs also informed the gaming community the other week that it will most likely take multiple playthroughs before players can see the whole story. The game will have four separate characters available and cooperative play. Following next month’s update, fans will be able to enjoy Heroic Assault as well.
Furthermore, devs also recently confirmed that the game is not going to include performance options. The also announced that it will run at a maximum of 30 FPS. “I know many of you are wondering about the availability of a performance mode for Gotham Knights on consoles,” Executive Producer Fleur Marty said.
“Due to the types of features we have in our game like providing a fully untethered co-op experience in our highly detailed open world,” he added. “It is not as straightforward as lowering the resolution and getting a higher FPS.”
