Overwatch 2 Fans Are Upset About the $20 Skins

Overwatch 2 Players Are Upset About Pricey Skins

Overwatch 2 fans are not too happy with devs at the moment. Apparently, devs are asking the game’s following to dig fairly deep into their real-life pockets for its cosmetics and battle pass. With that said, it was not surprising when fans aired their dismay.

The battle pass for Overwatch 2 can be obtained for 1,000 Overwatch Coins. These, in turn, will cost players around $10. Plus, players also cannot earn this premium currency back by completing the battle pass. With that said, they will have to pay another $10 for the next battle pass. Additionally, Junker Queen’s Legendary skin will also cost players another 2,000 Overwatch Coins. This price is apparently already discounted by 31%.

Many Overwatch 2 players were quick to share their displeasure about this situation on social media. “Guess I will not be getting most of these skins unfortunately,” one fan wrote on social media.

“No thanks,” wrote another. “I will stick with my free skins from Overwatch 1.”

As expected, fans are feeling very nostalgic for the first version of the popular shooter. After all, the original iteration dd not lock any cosmetics behind a paywall. However, it is worth noting that there is a key difference between Overwatch 1 and Overwatch 2.

The second installment is a free-to-play game. With that said, it is not surprising to fans that its battle pass comes with a price. However, they are complaining that its prices are still too much on the high side even for a free-to-play title. This indicates that the very disappointed reactions of the Overwatch 2 community are not unwarranted.

The multiplayer side of the Overwatch franchise is apparently going to change forever starting on October 4th. As the second game’s launch is slowly coming into focus, the original game will reportedly cease to exist.
