Xbox is Going to Gamescom 2022 With New Game Updates

New Xbox Summer Event

Microsoft has officially confirmed Xbox will be attending Gamescom 2022 in Germany, with new first-party game updates.

The new Xbox showcase is confirmed to include game updates but only for already announced games that are coming within the next 12 months. Microsoft is effectively avoiding the same misstep it took in June when they did not specify that Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase would only focus on the next 12 months of Xbox, which have taken some fans by surprise during the event.

“We’re excited to confirm that Xbox will be back on the show floor at Gamescom 2022 in Cologne, Germany. Fans in Europe and around the world can expect updates on some announced games coming to Xbox in the next 12 months,” said Microsoft in a press release.

Fans may want to limit their expectations as Microsoft may have already made its biggest splash of the year at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase. It looks like this event will only include some more trailers from what we may have already seen before, which may not be as exciting.

The list of games that fans may expect updates on is actually quite exciting. The gaming giant so far has games like Starfield, Redfall, and Forza Motorsport. All of which are lined up for the first half of 2023, and all of which will most likely make an appearance at Germany’s Gamescom.

Gamescom is set to take place from August 23 to August 28.
