NBA 2K23 Will Have #23 on Its Cover
NBA 2K23 devs have just confirmed that Michael Jordan will be the game’s cover athlete. 2K Games recently confirmed to the gaming public that the basketball legend will be on the front of the game.
“Greatness is calling,” devs wrote on social media, alongside a trailer for the game. “Answer the call in NBA 2K23 with our cover athlete Michael Jordan.”
Considering that the next installment int he stable basketball game franchise is 2K23, fans were not entirely shocked that #23 of the Chicago Bulls was going to be involved. As announced, Jordan will be on the cover of both the special Michal Jordan Edition, as well as the Champions Edition. NBA 2K23 fans can start to pre-order the Michael Jordan Edition and the Championship Edition on July 7th.
This is actually the fourth time that Michael Jordan is featured on an NBA 2K game cover. He was also seen on the fronts of NBA 2K11, 2K12, and a special edition for 2K16. NBA 2K23, on the other hand, will come with some references to Jordan’s basketball career. In fact, devs are bringing back the fan-favorite Jordan Challenge.
Fans first saw this feature in 2K11. It had 10 different moments from Jordan’s career. With NBA 2K23, however, it will show off 15 moments from his run in college with the Tar Heels, Team USA, and in the NBA. In fact, the trailer showcased some of his classic moments from 80s and the 90s. During this era, he got Rookie of the Year, five league MVP awards, six NBA titles, an Olympic gold medal, and played in 14 All-Star Games. The preview also featured some classic Chicago Bulls uniforms and Jordan sneakers.
Furthermore, fans also strongly believe that Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns will the other cover athlete. However, 2K has neither confirmed nor denied these reports. NBA 2K23 is due for global release on September 9th.
