Blizzard Acquires Proletariat To Assist In World of Warcraft’s Development

Blizzard Entertainment, one of the biggest video game companies in the world, has announced the acquisition of Proletariat. Proletariat is a Boston-based video game studio. The purpose of the acquisition is for Proletariat to assist Blizzard’s current team in developing its hit MMORPG, World of Warcraft.

Proletariat began working with Blizzard Entertainment in May and will be fully integrated into the company over the upcoming months. Furthermore, the company is excited to assist Blizzard in various aspects of the development of World of Warcraft amongst other titles.

Additionally, Bobby Kotick of Blizzard stated, “Over the next two years we plan to hire hundreds of the best developers to serve the needs of our World of Warcraft players. The extraordinary team at Proletariat will be a key component of our talent acquisition efforts.” Furthermore, Seth Sivak, CEO of Proletariat, stated, We are incredibly excited to be joining Blizzard Entertainment…World of Warcraft is one of the most influential games ever made and we can’t wait to be a part of that legacy and to help build an even brighter future for Azeroth.”

Moreover, Blizzard Entertainment considered Proletariat perfect for the job as the company has a ton of experience in MMOs. Previously, the developers worked on titles such as Spellbreak, Asheron’s Call, Lord of the Rings Online and Dungeons & Dragons Online. Therefore, fans of World of Warcraft can look forward to new ideas and creative decisions in the future.
