Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Devs Delay Release of WMD Map

Black Ops Cold War Will Get WMD Map in a Future Update

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has managed to maintain its popularity among CoD fans. Many fans have somewhat remained loyal to the franchise’s distinctive Cold War aesthetic over the newer WW2-themed title. With that said, Treyarch Studios keep on rolling out updates for the previous title to this day.

Two major features that are coming as part of a new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War update is a returning map and a new assault rifle. Unfortunately, it has become apparent that only one of the two made the final cut.

The Vargo 52 Assault Rifle is now available to unlock in MP and Zombies in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War,” devs confirmed on social media. “We will need to delay the release of the WMD map until a future update.”

The fan-favorite WMD map was supposed to be included in a surprise update for the game. Unfortunately, the map is not quite ready for an official launch just yet. This suggests that devs spotted some issues on that front.

Many players are not too happy to find out that devs unexpectedly postponed the WMD map. However, the arrival of the new assault rifle is hugely welcomed within the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War community.

The Vargo 52 is a fictionalized version of the Armenian VAHAN rifle. It has reportedly not seen active combat in the real world. Still, it is one of the franchise’s many customized retro fits of concept level firearms. It gives players the opportunity to enjoy something that is not yet another AK clone.

Furthermore, the gaming community has not reacted too kindly to CoD’s yearly schedule as of late. With that said, fans are hoping that this will change once Microsoft properly takes over Activision Blizzard.
