Dying Light 2 Is Putting up Numbers on Steam
Dying Light 2 has been massive on Steam. The game has barely been out, and it has already topped the top 25 most played games on Steam. That is quite an impressive feat for a game that only launched a couple of days ago. It has managed to have a concurrent user count of 274,983.
Frankly, I’m just waiting to see if anything ever beats PUBG. PUBG currently owns the number one spot with a whopping peak of 3,257,248 players. To put that into perspective, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive sits at second place, with 1,308,963 players.
It will be very interesting to see just how well the game has performed on console. If the PC stats are anything to go by, then Dying Light 2 has been a massive success. I admit, I was curious how well Dying Light 2 would perform in such a stacked month.
February features games like Elden Ring and Horizon Forbidden West. Those are very hyped games. I didn’t know if fans would buy it immediately, but it seems that my fears were unfounded.
As it stands, Dying Light 2 is clearly a huge success on Steam. It will be interesting to see how it continues to grow over the years. It sounds like developer Techland wants to continue to support the game with DLC for years to come.
I’m never a fan of when devs come out and say they have years of support planned. You never know how a game is going to perform, and you don’t know how player retention will be. Will people be playing this once Horizon Forbidden West and Elden Ring launch? Time will tell.
