Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt Is Finally Coming Out in 2022
Vampire: The Masquerade has had a few video games in the works, with the help of various companies. There’s been Swansong, which will be a more investigative game; there’s Bloodlines 2, an RPG that narrowly missed being canceled. And now it’s official for Bloodhunt to be coming out on the PlayStation 5 and PC in the Spring of 2022.
While there had been a closed alpha stage in June, and there was an Early Access gaming capability via Steam released on September 7, 2021, what Sharkmob is hoping to bring out in Spring of 2022 is the first season of the free-to-play game. “Throughout the past 6 months, we’ve worked closely with our community, and received loads of feedback from streamers, media and players alike.” said David Sirland, Producer for Bloodhunt. “We’re now working on implementing all that great feedback as well as new features into the game, starting with Season 1 for PS5 and PC in Spring 2022.”
According to the press release, Bloodhunt is set in the city of Prague and is set in the Vampire: The Masquerade universe. The quick version of the story is that a vampire war was set off due to the arrival of strike teams from the Second Inquisition. This also means that characters can select which vampire type they want to play via their Clan allegiance- which means players can choose based on strengths and weaknesses, or they can go with what just looks cool.
There’s also the promise of choosing outfits, hairstyles, and various other goodies for the release. While there is also the promise of language support in twelve dialects (English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Russian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Spanish (Latin American), Chinese, Korean and Japanese to be exact), there’s an even bigger promise that makes this game worth checking out: no play to win mechanics.
After all the talks of blockchains and NFTs as of late, that’s a relief. Whether interested or not in Vampire: The Masquerade, battling it out with fellow bloodsuckers with various weapons, or wanting to see how it plays on the PlayStation 5 system, Bloodhunt looks like a game worth keeping an eye on. Or, if you don’t mind going through Early Access and staying on PC, you can play Bloodhunt now on Steam.
