Next Splinter Cell Game Will Reportedly Be Open World

New Open World Splinter Cell Game Is in the Works, Says Insider

A new Splinter Cell game is reportedly in the works. According to multiple reports, this new iteration of the long-dormant game will feature an open world mechanic that is pretty much similar to that of Halo Infinite.

Ubisoft’s Splinter Cell game that is in early development is currently scoped as a, you guessed it, open world of sorts,” said known gaming insider Tom Henderson. He described the upcoming project as “a more stealthy version of Assassin’s Creed,” as well as “similar to how Halo Infinite has done its open world.”

This piece of Splinter Cell news certainly seems compelling. Considering that 2013 was the last time that fans of the franchise got a new game, the gaming world is now interested to see what Ubisoft is going to do with this new one. Henderson has proven himself to be a reliable source of gaming leaks in the past. However, with no confirmation from Ubisoft themselves, fans may want to take this with a grain of salt.

Still, regardless of Henderson’s report to be true or false, the community is already aware about one upcoming project. The devs are currently working on a VR game that is set within the Splinter Cell universe. This project will reportedly feature multiplayer.

News about the franchise getting yet another installment has been making its rounds on the Internet for years. It might finally be the right time to make the fans’ wishes come true. After all, Netflix is currently working on a Splinter Cell TV tie-in.

Splinter Cell fans have waited for news about their game all this time. Surely, they will not mind to wait a little bit more. Hopefully, however, Ubisoft will provide some form of confirmation about this project to tide fans over.
