It Might Be Possible to Grab an Xbox Series X or PS5-but Chances Are Slim
GameStop is planning to launch a restock of the evasive Xbox Series X and PS5 on December 23, 2021. This was reported by Shortcut in the past week, and this is similar to the paywall that Amazon currently has for the restock of the Xbox Series X. However, unless they run out in the first hour (which is more than likely) only those with a  PowerUp Pro Rewards membership will be able to purchase either console.
Reportedly, approximately sixty of each console will be found in select stores for those that are interested in trying to pick up one before Christmas.
However, there is no guarantee that this will be in every GameStop store, so it’s best to call ahead to be sure. (Sorry ahead of time GameStop employees!). But we do know that there are various locations in the US that will have at least one of the consoles in stock, though it will be fairly limited, thanks to, well, limited stock.
This is due to the Global Chip shortage that has been, well, because of the pandemic.
But, there are about 21 states confirmed (though accuracy may be tentative) but nothing is solid, sadly, for other locations globally. And unless internal communications have been faked, this is confirmed for various stores.
The Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 will be available at opening, which varies from 8 am to 11 am local time. Prices for the PlayStation 5 bundle will be $795 USD, making the price with sales tax over $800 USD. And again, this only comes with being a  PowerUp Pro Rewards member in the Gamestop store.
This is, however, a bundle, which means that you get more than the console, at least for the PlayStation 5. It breaks down as such: PS5 Disc console at $499, PS5 controller: white, black or red at $69, PowerA PS5 DualSense charging station $24.99, and three PS5 games- Ghost of Tsushima, Rachet and Clack, and Spiderman.
For the Xbox Series X, it’s a little less expensive at $745 USD. This comes with the console at $499, Call of Duty: Vanguard, Far Cry 6, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and a 100 GameStop gift card.
