Mighty Machines
The long-awaited follow-up to Horizon Zero Dawn is nearing. In just a couple of months, Horizon Forbidden West will be on the hard drives of every fan in the PlayStation family. A new trailer for the game has dropped and it focuses on the new enemies that Aloy will be fighting.
As you may well know, the enemies in the Horizon games include robotic animals. Not like the kind you would see at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. They fill the Forbidden West and patrol its lands, skies, and waters.
The machines seen in the trailer are brand new to the series. Some have already been revealed and classified, but others need a little more familiarizing. We have the pterodactyl-like Sunwing, tiger-like Clamberjaw, the mechanical raptor Clawstrider, and as well as the undersea Tideripper. All of which can be fought, tamed, and used for different purposes.
There are a couple of unnamed ones that look very dangerous. One of them is a giant armadillo/stegosaur-like machine that can use surrounding scrap to armor itself and roll around at dangerous speeds. Another appears to be a huge cobra machine. It is large enough to coil around a skyscraper and slither around the deserts.
Aloy is not the only one able to tame these beasts. There will be human enemies that can also ride them into battle and fight with them on their side. Like I said, some of them do not yet have a classification. There is only a couple of more months until we know enough the battle with them though.
Horizon Forbidden West will be coming out on February 18th, 2022 for PS4 and PS5.
