Horizon Forbidden West PC System Requirements Revealed

Preparing for the Horizon Forbidden West PC Launch

With the impending release of Horizon Forbidden West on PC just around the corner, developer Nixxes Software has unveiled the system requirements necessary to run this highly anticipated port.

In a recent post on the PlayStation Blog, Julian Huijbregts, Nixxes Software’s Online Community Specialist, highlighted that the PC version of Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition has been meticulously optimized to cater to a wide range of PC hardware, including portable gaming devices like the Steam Deck. This emphasis on accessibility aligns with Nixxes’ reputation for delivering high-quality PC ports.

Huijbregts emphasized that while the game is designed to leverage the capabilities of cutting-edge hardware, it still promises a smooth and enjoyable experience on less powerful PCs. The post provides detailed recommendations for system specifications tailored to different graphical presets, ensuring players can customize their experience according to their hardware capabilities.

Horizon Forbidden West: Complete Edition

Notably, Nixxes recommends the use of a solid-state drive (SSD) for installing Horizon Forbidden West on PC, regardless of CPU and GPU configurations. This recommendation follows feedback from the recent PC port of Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, where performance suffered significantly when installed on a traditional hard disk drive (HDD).

In addition to unveiling system requirements, Nixxes announced that the PC port of Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition will support Nvidia’s DLSS 3 technology. Exclusive to the GeForce RTX 40 series graphics cards, DLSS 3 can substantially enhance performance by rendering the game at a lower resolution and upscaling it with AI, providing a smoother gaming experience.

Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition is scheduled for release on March 21 on both Steam and the Epic Games Store, marking another PlayStation exclusive making its debut on PC alongside titles like Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War, Uncharted 4, and the Spider-Man series by Insomniac Games.
