Grid Legends Devs Are Revealing More About the Game in a Stream on December 3rd
Grid Legends devs are finally going to show off the game’s first gameplay this Friday. They are also going to reveal more about the much-awaited racer, including its official launch date, on December 3rd at 8am PT. The stream will be headed by Creative Director Chris Smith and Social and Community Member Chris Groves.
Grid Legends is going to bring a new story mode to the series. This new mode will feature “a classic underdog tale.” The game is all about the Grid World series. Moreover, it will put Grid Legends players “front and center in a fly-on-the-wall documentary that captures every moment on and off the track.”
“Grid Legends combines everything our players love and adds more exhilarating race features, including our new epic story mode,” Smith said. “We are giving more players more variety and choice, whether that is creating their ultimate races using our race creator or bringing back the community-requested Drift mode.”
At launch, Grid Legends will also feature new Boost and Elimination modes. It will also introduce fresh new locations such as London and Moscow. When the stream this Friday begins, Smith and Groves will reveal new locations, new cars, and new event types for Grid Legends players to enjoy.
Electronic Arts acquired Codemasters in February. Plus, a recent job advert for the studio claimed that they are working on their “most ambitious and biggest” project in over a decade. “Our orientation is not to come in and take over Codemasters,” EA CEO Andrew Wilson stated. “Our orientation is around the provision of opportunity.”
“This is just the start of the journey,” Smith continued. “We cannot wait to reveal more in the coming months.”
Grid Legends is going to launch in 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
