Hello Kitty Confirmed as Newest Banana Mania Paid DLC

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania Will Also Be Joined by Hello Kitty at Launch

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania gains yet another iconic character, Hello Kitty. Sega made the official announcement in a reveal video that confirmed everyone’s feline friend will be making its way to Sega’s popular game as a DLC character.

Hello Kitty will be available for purchase in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania for $4.99 when the game is launched on October 5th. Sega previously teased their plans of bringing “several iconic guest characters” to Banana Mania, and Hello Kitty will be among them—joining the likes of Jet Set Radio’s Bet, Sonic and Tails, Yakuza’s Kazuma Kiryu, and Persona’s Morgana. Character skins based on classic Sega consoles, such as the Dreamcast, Saturn, and Game Gear, will all also be available as DLCs.

The adorable Hello Kitty is rolling into the world of Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania!” read the social media post. “As Hello Kitty says, ‘You can never have too many friends!’”

When news of Hello Kitty joining Super Ball Monkey: Banana Mania first came out, some fans were quick to point out that $4.99 may seem a bit too high for a little character that will simply roll around in a ball. However, there is no doubt that Hello Kitty fans will gladly jump in with no hesitation. Fans are also expecting that there could potentially be even more paid DLCs down the road.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania was first announced to the gaming community during a Nintendo Direct even in June. The title will also feature remasters of Super Monkey Ball, Super Monkey Ball 2, and Super Monkey Ball Deluxe—all reportedly running on the same engine as the one that Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD is using.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania, along with the Hello Kitty DLC, has been scheduled for an official launch on October 5th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC.
