Innovative New Action Roguelite Dreamscaper Out Today

Gorgeous Isometric Roguelite Officially Released

If you’ve enjoyed the recent smash hit Hades, you may want to check out Dreamscaper, which has officially released after nearly a year of early access.  Dreamscaper is a gorgeous isometric action roguelite where you must both interact with the real world during the day time and combat your nightmares in your dreams during the nighttime.

Dreamscaper

Dreamscaper’s unique waking/dreaming gameplay loop allows for an engaging upgrade/combat cycle as well as a storytelling experience through relationships akin to Persona or Hades.  During the daytime, the main character, Cassidy, can explore the city of Redhaven, build relationships with its inhabitants, unlock story, and obtain permanent upgrades.  During the nighttime, Cassidy fights nightmarish enemies and bosses which represent her negative emotions in the typical roguelite dungeon crawling experience.  There are also various puzzles to solve and secrets to find throughout a total of six different dreamscape regions.

Dreamscaper has a fluid in-depth combat system focusing on parrying and dodging.  Your character can equip a melee weapon, ranged weapon, shield, items, and abilities.  With twenty melee weapons alone and over ten ranged weapons, there is sure to be a large amount of variety of your runs.  In addition, since this game takes place in a dream, the weapons and abilities are exactly as you’d expect – finger guns, yo-yos, a time stop power, and more.  There are unique light heavy combos for each weapon which rely on timing hits to maximize damage, i-frame dodge rolls, and timing blocks to parry attacks.

As of today, Dreamscaper has over 800 reviews and a 93% positivity rating on Steam.  It releases on Steam, Epic Games, and Nintendo Switch.  No console release date has been announced yet.
