S5 Release for Both Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War is Delayed By 24 Hours
Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War Season 5 will be available this week, but just not as soon as they were initially said to be. Treyarch took to social media to announce that, unfortunately for those who have been waiting, the game’s Season 5 patch will be delayed by 24 hours.
“We are giving everyone an extra day to unlock tier 100,” the post read. “But, can you get there? Season 5 is now launching Thursday August 12 at 9PM PT.”
Although having to wait a full day more for the franchise’s new content to be released is never fun, the delay does give the players an additional day to complete the Season 4 battle pass. When that extra day is up, the battle pass will automatically change to Season 5.
It was only a week ago when Treyarch revealed some new features that will be showcased in Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War Season 5. When the patch is launched, CoD players will get the opportunity to double cross their friends in a new game mode that seems to involve some Among Us-style deception. There will also be more multiplayer maps, as well as new weaponry, such as the EM2 assault rifle, the Marshall handgun, and the TEC-9. A lot of this new content will be out when Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War Season 5 goes live, but other parts will have to wait until the Reloaded patch is released mid-season.
It remains unclear why the developers decided to move the launch date a day further, but it has been reported that it could be related to the fact that Publisher and parent company Activision Blizzard is dealing with the fallout of a major lawsuit with the State of California due to widespread harassment.
