Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War S5 Won’t Have Summit, Plaza & Yemen

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 5 Gets Five More Maps

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 5 will be released next week, and multiplayer fans of the franchise can expect a lot of new content. However, some of the maps that were featured in a recent leak, intriguingly, were not included in the season.

When further information was revealed regarding Operator Kitsune was leaked, it was mentioned that Summit was going to be featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 5. Sadly, however, that will not be the case. The other maps, namely Plaza and Yemen, that were supposedly leaked by a reputable source will also not be part of the game’s fifth season. However, it is hoped that these maps will be coming in Season 6.

Fans of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 5 will be happy to know that Slums—a classic CoD map—will be returning, in addition to four more. Apart from Slums, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 5 will also be featuring Echelon. As seen in the season’s cinematic intro, a lot of the fighting will be taking place in a top secret base that is located on top of a mountain.

Another map that will be added to the game is a trimmed down version of Outbreak’s Zoo region, as well as a Drive-In theatre. The original version of the latter is actually a DLC map in the very first Black Ops game. Just like Echelon and Slums, these two maps will also be utilized for 6v6 players. The fifth map to be added in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is Showroom, which is a relatively small area exclusive for both 2v2 and 3v3 gaming.

Four of the five new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War maps will be aimed at 6v6 players. This is a clear indication that Treyarch paid heed to the complaints of their fans. Fans of the franchise were not too happy in Season 2 after finding out that there was only one 6v6 map. It remains unclear if Season 6 will be impressive with its locales, but these new map additions do make the map lineup of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 5 look good.
