Acclaimed Roguelite Hades Out Today for Playstation and Xbox

Much Acclaimed Roguelite Out on Consoles

Hades, the much-acclaimed indie roguelite dungeon crawler released last year, is now out for Playstation and Xbox.  You either can grab a physical edition from retailers or purchase the game digitally.  Hades was one of the most critically praised games of 2020 for its thrilling action-packed combat and excellent narrative, earning game of the year for IGN, BAFTA, Polygon, and more journalist sites.

In Hades, you play as Zagreus, son of Hades, who seeks to escape the underworld.  Like other rogue-lites, you attempt to clear a procedurally generated dungeon and respawn every run.  However, Hades goes above and beyond by crafting a compelling and touching narrative through a “dating-sim” like experience with a host of famous Greek heroes, monsters, and gods.

The new physical versions of Hades will also feature a download code for the digital soundtrack by Darren Korb and a game artbook.  In addition, the first pressing of the physical game versions will feature a “unique foil cover”, so if you’re a fan of Hades, make sure to grab the game quickly! 4

The technical targets for the Xbox One and Playstation 4 versions of Hades will be 60 frames per second at 1080p, while the Xbox Series X|S and Playstation 5 versions aim to deliver 60 frames per second at 4k.  Both the digital and physical Xbox One and Playstation 4 versions will include a free upgrade to their digital next-gen counterparts.

Unlike the Nintendo Switch port, the console ports will not feature cross-save compatibility with PC.  Supergiant has recently released a “farewell” patch last month, and with Supergiant’s history with DLC’s, there is a high chance that there will be no further content added to the game.
