META is Full of Big Owlcat Fans
META Publishing and Owlcat Games have reached an agreement that will allow META to publish the upcoming Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous on PC and consoles, while Prime Matter will distribute the physical console versions. That’s excellent news for any fans of META’s other works, but it may also be reassuring to hear that META is filled with huge RPG fans.
Formed by a team of industry veterans in 2019, META Publishing seeks to provide a diverse range of developers with marketing and financial support, platform relations, and deep industry expertise. It runs a remote team of professionals across Europe, and yes, a lot of them are fans of Owlcat’s previous work with Pathfinder.
Judging by these fantastic trailers, they have good reason to be expecting something great from Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. But even setting aside the grand, sweeping soundtrack, stylish graphics, and incredibly atmospheric videos the game has to offer, META has another reason to help publish Owlcat’s work.
“Being a huge fan of the genre, I’m honored that we will work on bringing Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous to a global market. And a project of this scale is only a beginning for us,” said Ilya Salamatov, CEO of META Publishing. “We are firmly committed to the META Publishing brand as a reliable, resourceful, fair, and transparent partner for game developers from all over the globe.”
In other words, META intends to make its work on Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous a first step toward establishing itself as a reliable partner for other, similar games. And since it’s full of RPG nerds, working on similar games will probably be a dream come true for the team.
For its part, Owlcat Games has stated that partnering with META Publishing will help them bring the best RPG experience to players everywhere. The company’s determination to make Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous a truly great game is clear.
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous will release on PC on September 2, 2021, with PlayStation and Xbox versions arriving later in 2021.
