An Ending to the Brotherhood of Steel Storyline
Fallout 76‘s eighth major update is on the horizon and this one promises to be a game-changer. The Steel Reign update will conclude the Brotherhood of Steel storyline started in Fallout 76’s Steel Dawn update which dropped back in 2020. It will also be introducing Legendary Power Armor and may well lead players to return to the Pitt. The update will carry over decisions you made back in Steel Dawn, meaning that your choices will have consequences going forward and will directly affect your playthrough of the Appalachian chapter. You’ll meet some familiar faces again and meet new characters to get acquainted with, most of them presumably connected to the Brotherhood of Steel. And, if that weren’t enough, Steel Reign will also add a new quest that allows you to investigate a mysterious Super Mutant uprising.
New locations added in this update will include Uncanny Caverns, West Tek, AMS HQ, and more, giving players plenty of new areas to explore. More importantly, however, Legendary Crafting is coming to Fallout 76. Players will now be able to gather Legendary Cores, which–combined with Legendary Modules–will allow them to craft Legendary Upgrades. This means you can now upgrade, downgrade, and reroll 1-, 2-, and 3-star Legendary Upgrades. Plus, there are 8 new Legendary Weapon Attributes and 13 new Legendary Armor and Power Armor Attributes available, giving you more options than ever before.
Finally, the Steel Reign update will be adding a treasure trove of new rewards for players to hunt down. Some examples of this brand-new loot are the Face Breaker Power Fist, Brotherhood Civvies, Cryogenic Bed, Mercenary Outfit, and Hellcat Power Armor. Fans who love collecting cool stuff will probably be all over this aspect of the update. Hopefully, it’s all worth the wait.
Fallout 76 is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Steel Reign will launch on July 7th, 2021.
