Dying Light: Hellraid DLC Is Getting Its Own Story Mode

Yo Dawg, I Heard You Like DLC

I feel like Techland is pranking me, personally. Every time they come out with new content for 2015’s Dying Light, I write some news on it and say something like, “This might be the last piece of DLC for this game before Dying Light 2 comes out!” and every time, they prove me wrong. Now that Dying Light 2 officially has a release date, you would think that maybe the well of DLC for Dying Light 1 had run dry. Techland even release Dying Light: Platinum Edition, which contains all the DLC, but now Dying Light: Hellraid is getting its own story mode expansion. When will it end?

Dying Light DLC Hellraid

The Hellraid DLC adds a mysterious arcade machine to the game, which can bring the player to a medieval/fantasy setting, where they battle skeletons with swords, maces, and other weapons. These weapons can then be brought outside of the arcade and used against the zombies in Harran. The new content for the Hellraid DLC adds a story mode called The Prisoner, where the player has to find and aid an ally named Lucius. The Prisoner is the first of several parts to the Hellraid story.

The new expansion adds a new area to Hellraid, a new armored skeleton enemy, as well as new weapons such as the Bonecrusher hammer and the Corrupted Justice bow. There are also a bunch of technical improvements made like better lighting. The Prisoner is available now, and until June 10th all Dying Light content is 75% off on Steam, if you want to get it cheap. Dying Light is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
