Viking Age
Ubisoft Forward revealed a bunch of things yesterday at E3. New stuff like Far Cry 6, Riders Republic, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Rainbow Six Extraction, and Rocksmith+ will catch a lot of eyes, but there are also updates and new pieces of content for current games. They spent a few minutes talking about Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and what fans can expect in the coming months. The Wrath of the Druids DLC came out not too long ago and we are on approach to the Siege of Paris DLC. This Fall, fans, students, and history enthusiasts alike will be able to explore the game more freely in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Discovery Tour.
Discovery Tour is a guided free roam mode, where players can explore any area of the game and learn about the culture and setting without fear of being attacked by anything. Discovery Tour had been a feature in the last two Assassin’s Creed games, Origins and Odyssey, and is now making its way back in Valhalla. You will be able to learn about activities, chores, and buildings in 9th century Britain, big and small. It also looks like players will be able to explore Asgard in this mode as well, so we can get a deeper understanding of Norse mythology. Discovery Tour will be a free update to all owners of the game.
The end of the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla presentation also teased an extended post-launch content release cycle beyond the first year of the game’s release. We also see a mysterious door lined with Norse runes with lava flowing out. Something wicked this way comes. Perhaps this has something to do with a third DLC that was datamined a while ago. Whatever the case, new content will be coming to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla starting this Summer. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Stadia.
