Watch Dogs: Legion Update 1 Has Officially Been Unleashed

They Took Her Freedom, So She Stole Theirs

It’s official–Watch Dogs: Legion Update 1 has been unleashed upon the world, or at least on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and PC. This is the first major update since online multiplayer and it’s adding a ton of new content to both online and single-player modes. Season Pass owners will of course gain access to a new DedSec Stories mission, Swipe Right, as well as the new playable hero character Mina Sidhu, a woman given the choice to either become a test subject or go straight to jail. The experimentation gave Mina the ability to control the minds of others, and as this stunning animated trailer shows, she’s using it to go on a mission of vengeance against Albion. In all honesty, we think her story is interesting enough to get its own game dedicated to it. Pretty please, Ubisoft?

A variety of free content is also being added. Both single-player and the online mode now give players access to five new Operative abilities and two new Operatives, the DJ & the First Responder, on top of the ability to customize their Operatives’ hair and body art. The abilities in question are Pickpocket, Second Wind, Wanted, Hoarder, and Stuntman, each of which offers new ways to enhance your playstyle. Online mode is also adding three co-op missions: “Dysfunction,” in which a pair of Clan Kelley hackers holding London’s court system ransom; “Meltdown,” in which Clan Kelley acquiring a new plasma weapon; and “Repossession,” in which Albion gets their hands on data drives that could help them track down DedSec Operatives. Five new solo Assignments are also being added, as are Two Co-op Gadgets: the Guardian Drone and Point Defense Drones.

Even better, Ubisoft has outlined the game’s upcoming free content for everyone and exclusive content for Season Pass owners. At the end of May, all online players will have access to two new PvP modes, Extraction and Invasion, plus a new Tactical Op, Project Omni. In June, Season Pass owners can play a new story known as Watch Dogs: Legion – Bloodline, which will bring back Aiden Pearce and Wrench as fully playable characters in both the single-player campaign and online. Bloodline will be followed by another exclusive story in August which will bring new missions and make Darcy, a member of the Assassin Brotherhood, playable.

Watch Dogs: Legion is now available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and Stadia.
