Crytek Is Teasing a Possible Crysis 2 Remastered

Crysis 2: Cry Harder

The maker of the iconic first-person shooter series Crysis is back at being back at it again. A couple of times last week, Crytek tweeted out some some ominous messages hinting at a remaster of Crysis 2. After the remastered released of the first Crysis game last year, it is not a stretch to assume that is what they are teasing. If it is in fact a Crysis 2 Remastered game that is in development, hopefully it goes smoother than its predecessor. More hopeful still, perhaps the whole trilogy will eventually be remastered or even lead to a fourth original game.

Crysis Remastered

A few days ago, the official Crysis Twitter accounted sent out one of the memorable lines from Crysis 2, “They used to call me Prophet.” This is spoken at the end of Crysis 2 after players spent the entire game thinking that Prophet has met his end. The game’s ten years old; we’re out of spoiler territory. The day after, an image was released depicting the main character of Crysis 2, Alcatraz fighting an armored Ceph unit in the streets of New York, where the game takes place. Unless, this is just a throwback, we are probably looking at a remastered game on our hands.

Crysis 2 had two pieces of DLC; Retaliation and Decimation, both of which had additional multiplayer maps and two new weapons with the latter. If you are hoping for more single player content, don’t hold your breath. Hopefully, we will get a more official announcement on Crysis 2 Remastered soon. Crysis Remastered is available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch.
