Ready for a Quick Getaway?
Resident Evil: Village has the potential to be the greatest game in the franchise so far – in fact the team at Capcom are aiming to create the best survival horror ever, full stop – but the downside of that is that PC players will need a pretty pricey gaming set-up to experience the game in its full, nightmarish glory. After all, while playing any game on a PC gives you the chance to push the graphical fidelity past what a console is capable of, it’s not necessarily a case of being able to play every game that way, especially as graphics continue to improve, and newer hardware continues to release.
Luckily, Capcom have released the specs for the game over on the game’s Steam page:
Resident Evil Village minimum requirements
- OS:Â Windows 10 (64 bit)
- Processor:Â Intel Core i5-7500 | AMD Ryzen 3 1200
- Memory:Â 8 GB RAM
- Graphics:Â NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti with 4GB VRAM | AMD Radeon RX 560 with 4GB VRAM
- DirectX:Â Version 12
Resident Evil Village recommended specs
- OS:Â Windows 10 (64 bit)
- Processor:Â Intel Core i7 8700 | AMD Ryzen 5 3600
- Memory:Â 16 GB RAM
- Graphics:Â NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 | AMD Radeon RX 5700
- DirectX:Â Version 12
While some of the specs, like OS and DirectX, are identical between both the minimum and recommended specs, most aspects such as graphics card require more up-to-date hardware to take full advantage of what the game has to offer – not just in terms of scares, but in terms of what looks to be one of the most beautiful survival horror games ever made.
Luckily for those of us who play on console, the game will still look gorgeous, and we’ll still get the full experience as returning hero Ethan investigates the mysterious Romanian village – and its nightmarish inhabitants.
