Twitch Will Now Post a New PogChamp Emote Every 24 Hours

Twitch is Embracing the Madness

Twitch made the decision to remove the iconic PogChamp emote from the platform following a series of controversial statements from the emoteโ€™s star, Ryan โ€œGootecksโ€ Gutierrez surrounding the storming of Capitol Hill on Wednesday afternoon. While they removed the fighting game personalities likeness from the site, they stated their intent on keeping the term Pog alive as it has become such a core part of the siteโ€™s culture.

Since then, many have flooded Twitter, Reddit, Twitch, and basically any other place where we people will listen, with ideas for the new face of Pog. Well, Twitch has come to a decision on who that will beโ€“at least a temporary decision.

Twitch retweeted eSports host Sean Plottโ€™s suggestion to create a database of all the different creatorโ€™s individual versions of the โ€œPogchampโ€ emote.

In their retweet, Twitch announced that they will be taking the suggestion to heart and will offer a brand new PogChamp emote every 24 hours.

Twitch will just be rolling with it for now so we donโ€™t know exactly how long they will keep this system in place, but at least for the foreseeable futureโ€“there will be a new PogChamp every day featuring a variety of the platformโ€™s creators.

We wonโ€™t know for sure which creators will be featured in this strange turn of events as many creators big and small have created their own PogChamp emotes for their own personal subscribers. Hopefully we will see a variety of creators featured in this new system as it could offer a serious boost for smaller streamers on the site.

2021 may be starting off rough, but at least Twitch is embracing the madness.  It is nice to see a major platform such as Twitch listen to its community. What do you think about the new PogChamp? Let us know down in the comments, or hit us up on Twitter or Facebook.
