Stormind Games Departs From Horror Games With Batora: Lost Haven

Balance of Mind and Body

In some cases, sticking to what you know well works. Most of the games Bloober Team has made are horror games like Layers of Fear and the brand new The Medium. Stormind Games is another studio that made its name with horror games. Their flagship series is Remothered games. Both are third-person stealth-horror titles. The first game was met with fairly positive reviews, while the more recent game was plagued with bugs and other issues, leading to a negative launch. Stormind Games has recently announced a new game, Batora: Lost Haven, which deviates from the thriller genre of the Remothered series.

Batora: Lost Haven

The reveal trailer for Batora: Lost Haven has a mix of cinematics and gameplay. This is a new venture for Stormind Games in tone, design, and gameplay style. Batora: Lost Haven appears to be set in a fantastical post-apocalyptic world where magic and monsters fill the game. The gameplay shows a top-down RPG with a mix of hack and slash gameplay with twin-stick shooter elements. The trailer speaks of power of both body and mind, which are shown through physical attacks and magic attacks, respectively. Screenshots also show two distinctive sets of abilities, which appear to represent those two elements.

We have seen many games like this one, but we shall have to see what Stormind Games does to set it apart from the others. There is currently no release date yet, but Batora: Lost Haven is set to release on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch.
