Hitman 3 Celebrates a Big Digital Launch
IO Interactive has officially confirmed that Hitman 3 is the series’ biggest digital launch to date, easily edging out the rest of the new World of Assassination trilogy. Hitman 3 has only been on the market for a handful of days but it’s already selling tremendously well digitally. It’s likely that physical sales of Hitman 3 are also higher than the previous two titles but we’ll have to wait for that data to come out. Hitman 3 is available right now for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia, and PC through Epic Games Store exclusivity.
“Hitman 3 has arrived!” proclaimed the official IO Interactive Twitter account. “And it’s the biggest digital launch in franchise history.” While we aren’t sure what to expect from the retail sales of Hitman 3 as of right now, it looks like IO Interactive is celebrating a huge milestone in the Hitman series. Considering Hitman 3 has a timed-exclusivity to the Epic Games Store, it’ll be interesting to see how much these numbers increase when the game is inevitably made available on Steam and other PC retailers.
Hitman 3 players on various platforms are currently reporting issues playing the latest installment in the series, with servers appearing offline to some people. Long-time fans of the Hitman series can import their save data from previous titles to truly immerse themselves in the World of Assassination trilogy. IO Interactive has also worked to compress the file size of the new Hitman trilogy, significantly decreasing the space it takes up on your hard drive, freeing up more space for other titles.
