Disjunction Has a Release Date Now and We Can’t Wait

Fingers Crossed That This Cyberpunk Outing Goes Better

Yeah, we know the word ‘cyberpunk’ leaves people with a bad taste in their mouths at the moment, but Disjunction has been in the works for a while and we quite like what we’ve seen. This stealth-action RPG takes inspiration from classic tech noir and follows the path of three hardened individuals on a journey through the dystopian underworld of 2048 New York, where they must uncover a conspiracy rooted deep within the heart of the city. Combining lavish pixel art with gorgeous old-school cyberpunk imagery, this is a game you won’t forget anytime soon. And it’s coming out by the end of the month! Awesome.

The press release announces that Disjunction features “an interconnected narrative starring three playable characters, players can choose their playstyle and use an arsenal of futuristic tech, weaponry and cybernetic upgrades to engage in lethal, high-octane combat, or utilize distraction techniques and non-lethal attacks to stick to the shadows and evade detection. Experience a reactive story shaped by your actions, unlock cybernetic upgrades to augment your abilities, and crush entire factions or convince them to aid your cause. Your destiny is yours to write.”

We don’t know about you, but we’re pretty excited about that. We’re even more excited to get to know the three playable characters: Frank, the unstable PI looking into a murder; Joe, the former boxer looking for answers about his daughter; and Spider, the hacker contracted to restore balance to New York’s Chinatown. They all have different skills that enhance either combat or stealth gameplay, but you can customize them to suit your playthrough. More importantly, they’re all absolutely fascinating characters, and we can’t wait to see them in action.

Disjunction will be released for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on January 28th, 2021. A playable demo is available to download on Steam.
